Amit Klein, a noted internet security researcher and CTO of Trusteer, is an expert on web browser and endpoint security. Mr. Klein has discovered and reported several high profile web and DNS vulnerabilities, and is credited with discovering "In-Session Phishing". This technique injects information requests into all major browsers after a user has logged on to banking, brokerage, or other secure web applications. Previously he was Chief Scientist at Cyota, Inc. (now part of RSA Security) a leading provider of layered authentication solutions.

A task force representing the financial industry recently issued a
confidential alert to its members about increasing attacks by organized cyber-gangs in Eastern Europe on small and mid-size companies in the United States.

Is it as alarming as it sounds? Yes indeed. It is very disturbing especially because small businesses do not enjoy same protections as the consumers do regarding such frauds. It is therefore very imperative for small businesses or for that matter any business to introduce systems that will protect these attacks and stealing on the internet. For the small businesses who do not have big budgets simple measures like fire walls, anti virus, anti spy ware and other security software be installed and always updated. But that is not enough. As an added security they should transact all business in encrypted mode and use multiple proxy servers to protect their IP address and identity. There is excellent software such as Private Proxy Software that allows Rapid IP change and routing of internet connection through multiple remote servers. This allows one to browse anonymously and gives a level of security and privacy while surfing the net.
